PFI decant and refurbishment works to MOD Headquarters.

IAA’s Client was responsible for the design, supply and installation of a Structured Cabling System during the initial Decant Phase and subsequently during Main Building refurbishment. This included temporary IT Structured Cabling works to 4 No. MOD buildings in central London to enable decant of MOD employees from the Whitehall Building. Upon successful Decant the second Phase involved the design, supply and installation of a structured cabling system, again to meet the requirements of the Output Specification.

IAA appointed at the outset to assist in the original subcontract price agreement and negotiation of terms and conditions, based on a DOM/1 Subcontract Form as amended and supplemented by stepped down provisions of the Project Agreement.

The IAA role included internal cost control, particularly recording and reporting costs during design and installation within the confines of an Output Specification. IAA provided a commercial management function for our Client for both Phases of the works, which included numerous subcontract orders and accounts and the successful negotiation of the Final Accounts, including considerable variations, prolongation and disruption claims. IAA also successfully concluded Adjudication proceedings for variation works during this initial phase.
